The optimal design and performance of a camshaft for high performance use can be summarised as;

- valve timing and valve lift to match engine performance
- instant opening and 'quiet' closing of valve opening/closing accelaration characteristics

- hardness of the polished 'cams'





The high flow camshaft from monster engine technology has been developed to assure that the appropriate valve timing matches the engine torque characteristics.

In order to efficiently measure air intake and exhaust gas, the optimal valve timing was calculated via computer simulation.

The camshaft is the main component responsible for demonstrating maximum engine performance - low end torque, maximum power and stable idling.

the target during development was;


- appropriate valve timing to match with engine torque characteristics.
- efficient yet minimal load on valve opening and closing during accelaration.
- accurate manufacturing technique to create the designed profiles.
- low friction yet good initial matching of surface finish.
- material hardness and durability during high engine rpm and high temperature.
